Ridgefield resident Dr. Heidi Houchen was named president of the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association through 2022. She graduated with a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine from Washington State University’s veterinary school in 1992. Dr. Doug Koekkoek was hired as chief physician executive at PeaceHealth. His goal is to help unify physicians and clinical care practices across the health system. Koekkoek was most recently employed as the system chief medical officer at Providence Health and Services’s Physician Enterprise, which encompasses more than 900 clinics and 9,000 physicians.
