If you ve ever seen Gilmore Girls, it s set in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut and every other episode mentions Naugatuck, Hartford, New Haven, etc. The huge hit movie Mystic Pizza comes to mind too. Recently, Mrs. Large has been watching the Netflix show Bridgerton, and a character on the show is named Lady Danbury. Pretty unusual right?
The show is produced by TV powerhouse Shonda Rhimes. I don t see anything in her past to connect her to Connecticut? But Gilmore Girls on the other hand, show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino was inspired to set her series here after a real-life visit to Washington Depot, the Mayflower Inn, New Milford, and West Hartford. I guess we re always trained to find the real-life inspiration for fictional characters.
