We attended one of those events on Saturday (10/28/23) so our daugter could celebrate Halloween with her peers and it was way cooler than I thought it would be. The event was free, the children got candy and there was a dance party breaking out all over the lawn.
I'm a little biased because I live in the Hat City but it really is a top-notch foodie destination. The city is one of the most diverse in the entire country and our cuisine reflects that. We have food from Italy Ireland, China, Japan, Vietnam, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and beyond. Not only are the options limitless but the quality of our food is ridiculous. When I have to describe the food scene to outsiders I simply say, we're really spoiled.
Light the Lights is a free event, open to all, including Santa Clause. That's right, Jolly Ole' St. Nick will be in attendance. Santa will arrive on a fire truck and take pictures with the kids. The green will be transformed into a winter wonderland with the edges of the green dotted with vendor tents from all over the local area.
