Focusing on the theme “Children for Friendship”, it will be shown on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at 10 a.m. via the EU in the Philippines Facebook page, featuring a visual tapestry of European culture and arts, crafts, songs, poetry, and storytelling from the Embassies of Czech Republic, Germany, France, Austria, Poland, and the Philippine-Italian Association.
EU Ambassador Luc Véron assured that along with the EU member states’ embassies and cultural institutes, the virtual presentation will create a unique and enjoyable cultural experience for the children.
“Since 2008, the EU Delegation has been providing an opportunity for Filipino children to learn European songs, games, stories, music and arts and crafts,” he said.

Viva Europa 2021 are the EU Delegation to the Philippines, the Embassies of Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Spain, France, Italy (through the Philippine-Italian Association), Hungary, Austria, Poland, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Dela Salle University, and the Far Eastern University.
EU Ambassador Luc Véron said this year’s cultural celebration highlights the partnership, friendship and the shared cultural values between the EU and the Philippines and in the context of the bilateral Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.

Viva Europa, an annual festivity of European culture and arts, has adopted the theme of togetherness and solidarity with the Philippines as it presents a colorful variety of events behind the backdrop of the current COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) pandemic situation.
With the theme “Sama-Sama Together”, this year’s Viva Europa wants to convey the values of friendship and partnership with the Philippines that needs to be nurtured in these trying times, according to European Union (EU) Ambassador to the Philippines Luc Véron during the program’s launch over the weekend.

CEBU CITY, April 14 (PIA) The newly-restored historical marker of Antonio Pigafetta, the chronicler of the Magellan Expedition, which the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) turned over to the City Government of Cebu symbolizes Philippine’s close ties with Italy.
This was the message highlighted by several officials who attended the unveiling of the historical marker of Pigafetta at the Plaza Independencia here on April 13.
“This monument of Pigafetta is a living testament of Filipino-Italian Friendship as it was donated to the City Government of Cebu by the Philippine Italian-Association. The commission sees the value of the monument to the Filipino people as it is the only monument we have for an equally significant world figure,” NHCP Chairperson Rene Escalante said in his speech during the event.
