Subscriber only A father and son, both prescribed with medical marijuana oil, decided to grow their own marijuana after the first medical marijuana batch cost them $460 for a 100ml bottle, which lasted them two weeks. Scott James Lindley Elliott and his son, Matthew Scott Lindley Elliott, both pleaded guilty on May 11 in Rockhampton Magistrates Court to one count each of producing a dangerous drug, possessing items used to produce dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils. Police prosecutor Zoe Melksham said police executed a search warrant at a Mount Morgan address on April 6 at 1.15pm, with the pair declaring marijuana plants were growing in the spare room.
Premium Content Bruce Highway motorists witnessed an alarming act of domestic violence in Central Queensland recently. The assailant, a 46-year-old Innisfail man, pleaded guilty on May 5 in Rockhampton District Court to one count of breaching a domestic violence order. Police prosecutor Senior Constable Michelle Welch said the first witness was standing on the side of the road at Miriam Vale at 1.46pm on April 30 when a female victim yelled out of a passing motor vehicle after opening the passenger door, headed in a northerly direction, for the witness to call the police. She said the car kept driving north and pulled over about 3.55pm, east of Gladstone, for unknown reasons.

A young man got so drunk, he does not recall breaking into a stranger’s house and stealing a picture frame holding a certificate of sentimental value only.
And doesn’t recall what he did with the picture frame.
Tristyn Dale Brandrick, 24, pleaded guilty on May 5 in Rockhampton Magistrates Court to one count of enter a dwelling and stealing.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Michelle Welch said Brandrick broke into a two-storey townhouse in Norman Gardens on April 4, removed a screen, entered the premises and removed the picture frame.
She said he dumped the screen in a wheelie bin after leaving the residence, leaving many fingerprints behind.

A day of drinking to celebrate being named captain of his Yeppoon Swans Aussie Rules team ended badly for Jack James Bailey.
The 30-year-old pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on Thursday to high-range drink-driving.
The court heard that Bailey had attended a Yeppoon Swans open day where he was named captain, and a day of celebratory drinking ended with him trying to drive home in a mate’s car.
At 1.35am on April 17, police intercepted Bailey driving on Appleton Drive and after a random breath test, he returned a blood alcohol contentr reading of .172.
The court heard Bailey, an apprentice builder, was trying to drive just 3km to his residence and could have walked the distance.

Stephen Mathys Robert Frenken pleaded guilty on May 5 in Rockhampton Magistrates Court to one count each of producing a dangerous drug, possessing items used to produce drugs and possess drug utensils. Police prosecutor Senior Constable Michelle Welch said police attended an Alma St residence at 1.30pm on December 21 in relation to another matter. She said Frenken told police there was a marijuana plant inside a tent in his bedroom.
