Steve keeley made mention, rain in the pocono mountains, knew. Lots of place haves rain this morning, some of russ hearing thunder, we have lightning showing up on ultimate Doppler Radar. Worse of the thunderstorms appear to be in ocean county this morning. But anywhere you see orange or red, thats where were getting some heavier rain, and we see some lightning popping up there, at the border, between new castle and kent counties in delaware. There is some of the thunderstorm activity moving to the north of Atlantic City around smyrna, delaware, theyve been getting quite a bit of rain. Weve been spared for the most part here in philadelphia, at least for now. Temperatures, are in the 50s, this morning, and not that much different than yesterday. We are just a dirty dozen days from the president ial election, and with the polls tight in the seven tossup states, you might call this the lightning round where with the candidates racing across the ghunt a furious fight for those 270 electoral votes. The president is in the air after a massive rally in virginia in the midst of an eightstate battleground blitz. Hes due to land in chicago within the hour to become the first president to cast an early vote before heading off to ohio. The challenger, mitt romney, has just wrapped up at his second event today in that most crucial state, the one thats picked every president since 1960. The state that no republican has ever won the white house without. A new Time Magazine poll has the president up five points in ohio by the way, but never mind, earlier today in cincinnati, romney sounded resplendent and utterly triumphant. I mean, do you want real big change in this country . Well, youre going to get it on november 6th. Oh, yes, a romney w

Were 11 days out from the election and with the roar of the rallies, the ads and the bus tours growing ever louder, team romney decided it was time to create a bit of white noise, sununu style. Other a certain key endorsement that did not go the way of mr. Romney. When you take a look at colin powell, you have to wonder whether thats an endorsement based on issues or whether hes got a slightly different reason for preferring president obama. What reason would that be . Well, i think when you have somebody of your own race that youre proud of being president of the united states, i applaud colin for standing with him. Yes, that was former New Hampshire governor john sununu, cochair of the Romney Campaign, patting the head of general colin powell for endorsing his fellow mochahued countryman. Or wait, are they countrymen . He has
Was a 48yearold employee of the church. No word yet whether the shooter had targeted this man but the suspect is described as an average man in his 30s. He was wearing a suit and tie and fled the scene. We dont know if the pastor was at the church. Mike brooks is joining me now. I was listening to some local reports, they were saying this man, the 48yearold victim was leading a prepare service on stage and was shot at point blank range. So we have to believe this is targeted. I would say so. As an investigator thats one of the things im going to think. If somebody goes up and shoots somebody at pointblank range, to me it means they were looking specifically for this guy and the suspect fled the scene in a black subaru. This is early on the investigation, breaking story out of Fulton County. They are on the scene, i was listening to the Fulton County police and there wasnt a lot of radio traffic, so we dont know if they know who this suspect is or not. Obviously if this was in the middl
Governor romneys recent momentum and president obamas chance to look president ial in this final week. One state already feeling the direct effect of the storm is right here just outside of us in virginia today. Were breaking down the recent success for democrats in the old dominion and what are the president s chances to do it again . Good morning from a very rainy washington. Its monday, october 29th, 2012. This is the daily rundown. Im chuck todd. Lets get right to my first reads of the morning. And its this. A massive category 1 storm, but its a large one. And its bearing down on the east coast just eight days before the election. Nearly 60 Million People are in Hurricane Sandys path one way or the other. And it stretches more than 800 miles from North Carolina to maine. And as sandy barrels towards the east coast, it is already bringing heavy rainfall and sustained winds up to 85 miles an hour.
