Fargo, ND- The Oak Grove Grovers opened the season with a 72-64 win over the Valley City Hi-Liners on Monday night from Oak Grove.
Connor Asche scored a game-high 24 points for the Grovers to improve to 1-0 on the season. Asche had 18 points in the first half alone.
The Hi-Liners were paced by Peyton Zaun who had 15 points. Valley City started the game with five three-pointers in the first quarter.
Valley City opens Eastern Dakota Conference play on Friday against Grand Forks Central High, while the Grovers square off with Beulah High School on Monday, December 21.
