Slow Food Festival to celebrate the fertile rock of Clare’s Burren
May 4, 2021
A CELEBRATION of the rich food culture of the fertile rock of North Clare’s limestone landscape will be the focus of this year’s Burren Slow food Festival.
The virtual event which begins this Thursday, April 29, will see producers and chefs come together in a series of online pairings with events streamed online up to May 5 at 7pm and hosted by Tina O’Dwyer of The Tourism Space.
Burren Slow Food Festival - virtual
15th April 2021 by Burren Smokehouse.
Last year, the pandemic and ensuing restrictions came as a surprise for us, so we were not able to organise an alternative festival. This year, we will be having a
virtual celebration of all that is local foods, chefs and even music!
Put the dates into your calendar: April 29
th to May 4
So how will this work?
Every night, the Burren Ecotourism Network will host an event live on their Facebook page showing a chef and a food producer (or a distiller and a brewer in one case!) who talk about the foods used in a prepared dish. Each session is hosted by a member of the Burren Ecotourism Network in their own venue throughout the Burren, like the Doolin Inn in Doolin, or Gregans Castle Hotel in Ballyvaughan.
