A FORMER Formula 1 boss has been working with his village on a litter picking mission throughout the coronavirus pandemic. Christian Silk worked in F1 for 30 years, enjoying championship winning success with the likes of Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso. He has since moved into Formula E, which uses electric cars only. Off the track, Mr Silk has been regularly picking litter in Freeland over the last 12 months. “It started when I was working from home and I would always pick up litter while on my walks around the village,” he said. “I’ll take a bag and pick up some litter every time I go for a walk during my lunch.
