PETAL, Miss. (WDAM) - A Petal student was injured Monday after two school buses collided on Old Highway 42.
Around 3 p.m., Petal police responded to the call near Moore Funeral Home.
According to reports, a vehicle pulled out in front of the first bus, prompting the driver to slam on the brakes. The second bus, behind the first one, was not able to stop in time, causing the two buses to collide.

FORREST COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - There are two different vaccines being administered across the country in the fight against COVID-19.
School districts in the Pine Belt are preparing to offer a dose to their teachers.
Teachers are included in Phase “1b2” of vaccine distribution, meaning they are expected to get their first dose in January or February.
Superintendents in Petal and Forrest County are currently working on plans to provide easy access to the vaccine for their hardworking teachers.
