be president, it would be romney. by far. by a long shot. no one else on the stage. it is a two person race. i agree with mark there. the interesting aspect to me is huntsman for 2016 off of last night. you were impressed by huntsman as well? i wasn t impressed by him. i was fairly impressed by him. you couldn t hear his teeth chattering this time. come on now. he s playing long ball. rick perry, unfortunately for rick perry is that the clip, ponzi scheme, in this age, that s the clip. that s the clip that s used. it s okay though, as mark halperin said for rick perry to say social security is a ponzi scheme the way it s set up right now. the numbers don t add up. sure. that said, we can take some steps moving forward that can ensure that this generation and next generation will know that social security will be there for them and their parents and their grandparents.
brad, thank you so much. chris hahn, great to see you. bill: there were some funny moment at the reagan library last night. governor perry doesn t believe he created those things. if he tried to say that it would be like al gore saying he created the internet. if 10% is good enough for god, 9% ought to be good enough for the government. to my good friend, mitt47% ain t going to cut it not when you can be first. i was trying to get your attention. i m a physician but you weren t going to ask me any medical questions. in terms of credentials. if he wants to write another book, i ll write anotherford anr
he was an abject liar to the american people. it is not safe on that border. your state has executed 234 death row inmates more than any other governor in modern times. have you have you struggled to sleep at night with the idea that any one of those might have been innocent? no, sir, i ve never struggled with that at all. they get a fair hearing. they go through an appellate process. they go up to the supreme court of the united states if that s required. if you come into our state, and you kill one of our children, you kill a police officer, you re involved with another crime and you kill one of our citizens, you will face the ultimate justice in the state of texas and that is you will be executed. that was a layup for him and when you hear the death penalty on the crowd, you have them on your side. how about that question? do you have trouble sleeping at night? how about the first question out of the gate blaming bush?
issue is you say by any measure social security is a failure. you can t say that to tens of millions of americans who live on social security and those who have lived on it. the governor says states ought to be able to operate out of to opt-out of social security. our nominee has to be committed to saving social security. trace: a lot of pun days say governor perry is going to back off that pundits say governor perry is going to have to back off that statement. my thought is there are seniors who are republican and democrats, one thing they have in common, they don t want their social security messed with. just calling something names isn t productive. if you believe people are looking for solutions, not just sloganning, then perry has got to learn trying to be clever isn t isn t going to cut it.
are a little on the dry side but last night, they were loaded for bear. it was mr. perry s debut there with the debate and they wasted no time in clobbering each other. jobs! while he had a good private sector record. his public sector record did not match that. as a matter of fact, we created more jobs in the last three months in texas than he created in four years in massachusetts. texas is a great state. texas has zero income tax. texas has a right to work state. a republican legislature and a republican supreme court. texas has a lot of oil and gas in the ground. those are wonderful things but governor perry doesn t believe he created those things. if he tried to say that, it would be like al gore saying he invented the internet. michael dukakis created jobs three times faster than you did, mitt. as a matter of fact, george bush and his predecessor created jobs at a faster rate than you
