officially add unhinged convicted felon who snapped after he lost the 2020 election to the list. that is how the current leader of the free world, president joe biden, describes his rival and his first expansive remarks taking down donald trump post trial, post conviction. the president taking the presumptive republican nominee on head on, for having made history in all of the wrong ways. for becoming the first ever ex-american president to become a convicted felon and for being the first convicted felon to then try to become president again. current president telling a crowd at a fund-raiser in connecticut last night that the 2024 election campaign had entered, quote, uncharted territory, with trump s criminal conviction. adding that as if the guilty verdict isn t disturbing enough, quote, more damaging is the all out assault donald trump is making on the american system of justice. echoing remarks president biden made last week, he called out trump s claims of a rigged just
to have a convicted felony running for president. and so our program republican voters against trump, it hinges on a key theory around permission structures, which is, you need credible messengers to speak to these swing voters. and so, we have hundreds of people who have voted for trump in the past, many of them have voted for him past, who are explaining and there s testimonials all over our website, explaining why they won t vote for trump again. but after the conviction, we wanted to make sure that it stuck with people. we have watched donald trump, extraordinary things have happened. like his own vice president, not endorsing him. and yet, it kind of just rolls off of voters minds, you know, trump s been around for a long time, we have two functional incumbents. and that creates a dynamic where voters just aren t as tuned in, in ways that they might have. so you have to go offense. you have to have strong, affirmative messaging to make sure that things stick in the mind of voters

trajectory of the race, but will have a marginal impact on these marginal swing voters in an election decided at the margins. i think that people are staring at the wrong part of the portrait. they are staring at the people willing to go to the u.s. capitol on january 6 to hang mike pence. of course those people are not moved by 34 felony convictions. if you look at the people who used to have trump flags in front of their house or used to wear an maga hat to the grocery store there are a lot fewer trump flags. a lot fewer redcap traffic the where the unlike those willing to travel to washington on january 6. can you talk about the moment that exist in terms of permission structures for sort of the rule of law republicans to say i m out?
