Normally Perham’s summer Turtle Fest would block off about three streets to feature a variety of social events, music, turtle races, and the Turtle Fest parade
However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Turtle Fest will not be like it has in years past. Turtle Fest 2.0 will be June 17-20.
“We’re going to do different things to create excitement but still be safe, social distance, and stay within the guidelines,” said Dan Schroeder, executive director of the Perham Area Chamber of Commerce.
“The whole thing behind Turtle Fest is a celebration of our community and of our visitors and locals alike,” Schroeder said. He said, after much discussion, decisions on how to safely conduct a version of Turtle Fest was decided upon.
