They allege he hired a hit man to kill his wife when she threatened to expose him during divorce proceedings. Kauffman was first held in the Atlantic County jail but was moved to Hudson County due to what prosecutors caulder Credible Threats on his life. In a statement the Prosecutors Office says James Kauffman died in an apparent suicide on friday morning, january 26, 2018. The investigation is continuing and we will have no further at this time.
