Standard-Times FALL RIVER The inaugural We HeART Fall River festival will be taking place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, in downtown Fall River. The event offers three unique event areas located around the Government Center, creating a festive perimeter of free activities for all ages (and pets). We HeART Fall River is a community celebration that invites attendees to engage with community resources and with one another, while celebrating the City s creative spirit in a safe, outdoor environment. RFP alert: Southwest Virginia needs a residential solar partner in coal country

These were the first communities in the Central Appalachian region to apply for and receive the SolSmart designation.

The Solar Workgroup of Southwest Virginia issued its Request for Proposals (RFP) for partnership in the Southwest Virginia 2021 Residential Solar Program. The program will provide solar installation services for homeowners in the coalfield region. The workgroup is facilitating this program as part of its mission to utilize the development of solar energy as a means of utility bill reduction and economic catalyst in the coalfield region (Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Tazewell, and Wise counties, and the City of Norton).
