The pension fund regulator has issued a circular announcing that an NPS investor can now choose different pension fund managers for different asset classes. NPS allows an individual to invest in equities, corporate bonds, government securities and alternate asset classes. Previously, an NPS subscriber was allowed to choose only one pension fund manager.
PFRDA has said it will discuss with the Centre a proposal to raise equity exposure in NPS to up to 75 per cent for the willing government employees, as is the case with the private sector employees.
