Police ID 2 killed in apparent murder-suicide in Salem County

Officers responded to a home on Davis Street in Pennsville Township around 5 p.m. after neighbors reported hearing a loud noise, which they described as a possible gunshot.
Inside the home, police found Casey Power, 25, and Brendon Anuszewski, 26, dead of gunshot wounds.
Authorities do not believe anyone else was involved in the incident, according to Pennsville Police Chief Vince Green.
Anuszewski appears to have fired the shots, Green said, noting that Power’s manner of death was determined to be homicide, while Anuszewski’s was found to be suicide.

Judith Caldwell, 64, died in the blaze at Sunrise Gardens apartments in Pennsville Township early Saturday morning.
Emergency responders arrived just before 2:30 a.m. for a report of a smoke detector activation from the B building. They found smoke and began evacuating residents.
Caldwell was found in her downstairs apartment, where the fire was primarily focused.
She died of smoke and soot inhalation and the manner of death was ruled accidental, according to Pennsville Police Chief Vince Green. Caldwell was alone and no other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is listed as undetermined, but officials are awaiting a final report from the state fire marshal’s office, Green said.
