Artist Roger Dellar to teach virtual painting class Feb 24

February 17, 2021 Artwork by Roger Dellar, Rehoboth Art League instructor. From his studio in Surrey, England, international artist Roger Dellar will teach a class on People in Pictures for the Rehoboth Art League from 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Feb. 24. He will demonstrate virtually how to add figures to paintings using oil. Dellar has a keen interest in people and their behavior. Using the Zoom platform, participants can paint along in oil, but acrylic and watercolor users are welcome as well. Everyone will gain valuable insight on approaching this subject. The class fee is $50 per person. Dellar travels widely and is internationally known for his work in several different media. He is a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, the Pastel Society, and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. He is a well-known teacher of art throughout the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States. He is represented locally by Peninsula Gallery in Lewes.

Dane Tilghman show celebrating black history to open Feb 13

“Dusty Roads” by Dane Tilghman, Peninsula Gallery exhibitor. February 10, 2021 “Guitar Lesson by Dane Tilghman, Peninsula Gallery exhibitor. The Peninsula Gallery welcomes back Dane Tilghman for a solo exhibition in celebration of Black History Month. The exhibit will run from Saturday, Feb. 13 to Saturday, March 27. Tilghman is known for his paintings of historical African American culture in explosive color and an impressionistic style. The display of 57 paintings will highlight the black community in and around Delaware during the 19th and 20th centuries with images of working-class farmers and watermen, domestic life and the music scene that all have helped form the region as it exists today.

December 15, 2020 Milton council to meet Dec. 15 Milton Town Council will meet at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15, at Milton Town Hall to discuss and possibly vote on ordinances related to two annexation petitions. The first petition is for Milton Attainable Housing LLC, which is seeking to annex 26 acres at the corner of Route 16 and Country Road, that would then be developed into 239 housing units and four pad sites for commercial businesses.  The second petition is for BBD LLC, on behalf of Stephen and Lynn Dexter, who wish to annex a nearly 8-acre parcel at the intersection of Route 16 and Union Street Extended, and then develop it as a commercial office and storage facility.
