Whats going on for ramp taxis. All the rules are based on fines not anatomy rational you pick up. We pick up any wheelchair whether its a paratransit or not but the fact is m b mobile and San Francisco pickup about 85 percent of the wheelchairs they get 58 a piece of for them. Two we cant find drivers that refuse to drive the ramp taxis because they cant pay the tax. And sometimes the ramp taxi no longer goes out because theyre not certified because they cant make any money our repair bills are high. And its a number one commercial vehicle used for commercial purposes. 3 engines in 3 and a half years and rear act ills. This is a vehicle that can pickup any heavier duty load youre talking about asians coming in with 18 suitcases. And two is that paratransit picks up who cares mostly motorized. Active duty reserve duty. And he is serving in the judge advocate Generals Department in the navy and hes an 06 navy commander, a captain. For those of you who dont know in the military 06 captain is equivalent to what we call a full board colonel in the army. Full colonel as opposed to lieutenant current. He has high qualification. Hes been an attorney in the judge advocate generals area for a very he long time. Hes serving right now probably adjudicating some the fate of some enlifted or an off certificate navy person. ~ enlisted. Hes very familiar with the issues that are current post 9 11 veterans. He served in iraq adjudicating many cases there. There is an hep dim i can of Violent Crime committed with guns and is a Serious Public Health problem that we must confront head on. It is incidents like this past week bring these terrible crimes out in the public, but the reality is people are killed every day in this country with weapons that permanently change the lives of the families that they are with.
