Arlington Heights, Barrington and Elk Grove Village are the latest Northwest suburbs to issue proclamations ahead of Pride month in June.
Arlington Heights Mayor Tom Hayes said Thursday that the village board came to consensus on a draft proclamation that will be released on the village s social media channels Friday. Hayes plans to read the proclamation at the next board meeting June 7.
POPUMC Hiking Group: 4 Mile Loop Hike at Locust Shade Park, Triangle, VA
The next day hike for the POPUMC Hiking Group will be on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Locust Shade Park, 4701 Locust Shade DR, Triangle, VA,703-792-7060. This is scheduled to be a moderate 4 mile loop hike within this park. However, they have built some new trails in this park over the previous fall and winter. So we may have to improvise this plan. As usual, we will meet at the rear parking lot of Prince of Peace United Methodist Church, 6299 Token Forest DR, Manassas, VA 20112 and be ready to depart by by 8:00 AM sharp. We should hopefully arrive at Locust Shade Park by around 8:20 AM and be on the trail by 8:30 AM. For those wishing to meet us at the park, the approximate GPS coordinates for the parking lot meeting place are 38.535791, -77.349398 . This should be the large parking lot just past the first set of restrooms that you pass entering the park. We plan to hike the series of loops in this park counter
Tracy Rae Podpeskar, a mother, attorney and partner of Trenti Law Firm in Virginia, died on Dec. 4. She was 43.
In her profession, Podpeskar was perhaps best known for carving her own path at the law firm from her beginnings as a legal secretary to law student intern to associate attorney and then to partner in 2012. âTracy practiced family law at the highest level, both as a skilled and zealous litigator for her clients and as a talented and effective mediator,â according to her obituary.
Her impressive resume shows that she was a member of the American Bar Association and the Minnesota Bar Association. She was a mentor with the Upward Bound Mentor Program. She was a member and past president of the Range Bar Association and served as the chair of the Range Ethics Committee. She served on the board of directors and as board chair of the Apple Tree Learning Center. She was a board member of the Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota and she was named a North Star Law
Tracy Rae Podpeskar, 43, a lifelong resident of Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 4, 2020.
She was born on July 14, 1977, in Wausau, Wis., the daughter of Lee and Mary (Jameson) Podpeskar. Of all her many achievements, Tracyâs biggest accomplishment, and the one that she was most proud of was to be the mother of her two amazing daughters, Jordan and Hayden. She bragged about them to all who knew her and loved to share the achievements of her two smart, independent young women.
Tracy was a fun-loving, down-to-earth, loyal, strong and caring person with a fabulous sense of style and an extensive shoe collection. She lit up a room and brought people together with her vivacious and charismatic personality. She was a wonderful and devoted mother, daughter, sister, friend and colleague. She loved spending time with her friends, family and her new puppy, Luna, and enjoyed hosting gatherings in her newly created Tiki Bar, traveling, cooking, and golfing.
