Waited in line for hours today to see the pope cruise through central park. It took so long to screen everyone that police finally stopped checking tickets. We have Team Coverage with that part of the story. This was happening as the papal parade was about to begin. Thousands of people were online outside of the park. We talked to some people who gave up and got off the line long before the parade started. For the people who made it inside and the people outside in the park just hoping to get a glimpse of the pope they say it was a moment they will never forget. It was the moment nearly 85,000 lucky new yorkers have been waiting for. A chance to see the holy father as his pope mobile wound its way through central park. I am the luckiest person in the world.
