The Killeen Police Department is investigating a motorcycle wreck which claimed a womanâs life on Saturday evening.
At approximately 9:58 p.m. police were dispatched to the 1600 block of S. Fort Hood Street in reference to a 911 call about a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle, according to a KPD press release. Officers located an unconscious female lying on the roadway.
âThe preliminary investigation revealed that a white Harley Davidson was traveling southbound on SH 195 at unsafe speed when the driver of a black Nissan Versa failed to yield right-of-way/stop sign and entered the intersection in front of the motorcycle,â KPD Spokesperson Ofelia Miramontez said in the release. âThe motorcycle struck the left front quarter panel of the Nissan, causing the operator to be ejected. The operator was not wearing a helmet.â

KILLEEN, TX â A 36-year-old woman is dead after a motorcycle crash on S. Fort Hood Street Saturday.
Marla Harris, the operator of the motorcycle, has been identified by police as the deceased.
Killeen Police were dispatched around 9:58 PM to the 1600 block of S. Fort Hood Street in reference to a 911 call about a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.
Officers located an unconscious female lying on the roadway when they arrived.

Killeen police made a warrant arrest recently on a woman who had been accused of shooting a man in the thigh in September, according to an arrest affidavit.
On Sept. 15, police went to a residence in Killeen where paramedics were treating a man with an obvious gunshot wound to the thigh. He was treated and taken to a hospital.
At the residence, police spoke to Lakeshia Wells, 33, who told them the man accidentally shot himself while putting the gun in his pocket following an argument, the affidavit said.
Police said Wellsâ versions of events were inconsistent during their conversation with her.

KILLEEN, Texas Chanon Jaross Lacewell was arrested in connection to a shooting that took place at Buddy’s Neighborhood Store in Killeen on Saturday.
Killeen police officers were dispatched to the Buddy’s Neighborhood Store, located at 3000 Old FM 440, regarding a shooting on January 23 at about 12:38 p.m., according to the Killeen Police Department.
Officers found several shell casings, but no victims or suspects were on scene at the time of their arrival.
A short time later, officers were informed that a victim who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg arrived at Advent Health Hospital, along with a vehicle that had damage consistent with a bullet hole.
