Soares, Gregor push for votes in District 5

PAWTUCKET – Both Democrats in a special City Council race are getting their message out to as many residents in District 5 as they can as they try to become the new councilor representing the district, Clovis Gregor with the slogan “A Trusted Leader for Woodlawn,” and Ana Soares promoting “Community First.”
Both said this week that the campaigns are going great and they’re receiving positive responses as they deliver their message and hear the concerns of residents. Both are employing a door-to-door strategy while also peppering the district with campaign signs.
PAWTUCKET – Two remaining candidates for the vacant Pawtucket City Council District 5 seat have limited time remaining to convince voters that they’re the right person to represent the district.
Registrar Ken McGill said last week that a July ballot in this whirlwind special election will no longer be necessary after independent Frank Carter did not return any signatures to run. That July ballot will consist of only the winner of a June 8 Democratic primary between Clovis Gregor and Ana Soares and a line for write-in candidates, effectively making the winner of the vote that day the chosen representative for the seat, he said.
