Cities from washington to boston are bracing for extreme conditions that include heavy snow, strong winds, and coastal flooding. Some areas could see between 2 and 3 feet of snow, a 250mile stretch of the northeast is under a blizzard warning. Southwest airlines is canceling more than 130 flights scheduled today. United airlines plans to cancel all northeastern flights tomorrow. Other carriers could do the same. Thousands of flights are at risk. Susan mcginnis is in montgomery county, maryland. Here at this salt depot, trucks have been immobilizing all night long for the storm thats expected later today and tomorrow. Elsewhere folks are preparing for a blizzard. Blizzard force winds real danger. Up to two feet of snow falling so fast it is a logistical nightmare for cities that have nowhere to put it. We see what the big apple is up against. Reporter salt trucks are ready. Once theres a few inches of snow on the ground thousands of plows will be deployed. The big fear is the snow might actually come down faster than workers can clear it.
