The new multi-jurisdictional task force recently joined by Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Detroit and other area departments will be involved in the follow up investigation.
“The officer’s been on the force for a few years, she's a very aggressive officer dedicated to her craft and vocation of being a police officer," Vanderplow said.
"He bailed out of the vehicle and actually ran out of his footwear, and proceeded to run from the scene in the direction in which were we tried to catch up to him," Vanderplow said.
President Biden signed an executive order last year mandating federal agents to start wearing body cameras in an attempt to restore public trust in law enforcement, but the majority of agents in Minnesota still aren’t wearing them.
