Laing O’Rourke will today begin the construction of Everton’s new 52,000 seat football stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock in Liverpool. The Premier League club hopes to host games at the site as early as 2024. The plans were given the go-ahead by Liverpool City councillors at a February meeting, before being approved by central government. The stadium has been designed by MEIS architects and engineers BuroHappold.
