The city of Avondale Estates will be taking on more responsibility when it comes to stormwater infrastructure and is looking into a solution to address stormwater issues on Hess Drive.
The Avondale Estates City Commission, at its Jan. 26 meeting, continued discussing the stormwater extent of service proposals. The board did not vote on the proposals, but the consensus was to clearly define what infrastructure the city is responsible for, and work out an easement agreement with the property owners on Hess Drive.
The Avondale Estates City Commission, at its Jan. 12 meeting, rejected a bid to construct the North Woods rain garden and other stormwater improvements at Lake Avondale. The city received one bid and the cost far exceeds the budget for the project.
The Avondale Estates City Commission will meet on Monday, Dec. 20, at 5:30 p.m. for a regular meeting. The City Commission meetings are held in person at City Hall, 21 N. Avondale Plaza, and will be available via Zoom.
The Avondale Estates City Commission is set to vote on the 2021 amended budget and 2022 proposed budget on Monday. The city saw a slight increase in revenues and expenditures in the 2021 amended budget, although the budget remained balanced.
