The Trafalgar Square Christmas tree has received a vital branch transplant to transform this year s threadbare Norwegian gift into the iconic London landmark.
The 62-ft tree was greeted by unimpressed onlookers when it arrived in the square yesterday from Norway with some saying it looked half dead and others calling to send it back .
The tree was felled in Norway in late November, as is traditional, and has now been shipped across the sea to be placed in one of London s most iconic tourist attractions.
