The Trafalgar Square Christmas tree has received a vital branch transplant to transform this year s threadbare Norwegian gift into the iconic London landmark.
The 62-ft tree was greeted by unimpressed onlookers when it arrived in the square yesterday from Norway with some saying it looked half dead and others calling to send it back .
The festive tree, in March, Cambridgeshire, was put up earlier this month, but many of those living in the area noted how sharply it is leaning to the side.
Councils in the UK have sparked outrage after erecting some of the saddest looking Christmas trees so far this year - while even the BBC s has been branded as stark .
