There is no one simple answer to anything. So when i do write these books try to pick an era in American History. When i wrote about bonnie and clyde was really writing about the depression and growing up poor in the dust bowl. When i wrote about the gunfight at the o. K. Corral which was not actually a gunfight and wasnt at the o. K. Corral, but the accidental shooting in an empty lot on fremont street just did not have the same sort of ring to it when the first people were going to write this history. I wanted to write about the settling of the last part of the american frontier, and about three and half years ago it occurred to me that a lot of that unique time in American History that we know as the late 1960s is either getting completely forgotten or else people are sort of putting their own little twist on it.
