GARDINER After weighing its own schedule and priorities in the next several months, the Gardiner City Council opted to push ahead with its city manager search Wednesday by choosing a search firm.
After a brief debate at Wednesday’s City Council meeting, elected officials voted 6-0 to hire the Eaton Peabody Consulting Group to undertake the search for Gardiner’s next top administrator, forgoing conducting interviews with the three organizations that responded.

By using revenue from the city s fund balance and Libby Hill TIF revenues over several years, the donation will have no impact on Gardiner s tax rate.

GARDINER Elected officials agreed Wednesday to commit to donate $500,000 toward the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kennebec Valley for its new building over a period of several years.
The money would come from the city’s fund balance money the city already has on hand, similar to a savings account and from revenue from the Libby Hill Tax Increment Financing district. On the recommendation of District 1 City Councilor Terry Berry, it will paid out only when fundraising reaches $9.5 million.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â Spring is in full swing in Middle Tennessee, making now the perfect time to do some spring cleaning and donate your extra T-shirts for people experiencing homelessness.
Ms. Cheap will be hosting a T-shirt drive at Room In The Inn from May 17 through June 4. The drive is sponsored by NewsChannel 5 and Main Street Media of Tennessee.
Clean men s and women s T-shirts are what s needed. They can be from schools, vacation destinations, charity events, brands, concerts, races, etc. The only shirts that will not be accepted are ones that promote alcohol or drugs, or display anything lewd.

Although some area residents continue to have difficulty, many who responded to a recent inquiry by the Sturgis Journal said the process is getting easier, although with occasional hiccups.
According to michigan.gov/sos, customers may make an appointment up to six months in advance or for the next day.
