good evening, our countdown clock continues to kick away. 17 days, 19 hours, 59 minutes and 39 seconds and counting until the first polls close on election night. here we are back where we were last friday night and where we will be every friday night at this time, counting down to election day. early voting, election day is pretty much underway in a dozen states, where early voting has already begun, including georgia, north carolina, both starting up this week. each of those states home to a key senate race, both of which we will be talking about this hour and tomorrow. early voting beginning in nevada, and that is where democrats may face what is their toughest individual battle to hold the senate seat. we have reporters on the ground there and then does two other battleground states we mentioned, we ll be joined by them shortly. plus, we will hear from voters in michigan that is where the governor s race has heated things up a bit this week and where there is a refe

charles. let me start with this stat. even with the small gain that you re seeing on the dow, it s the first eight-week losing streak for the dow jones industrial average in 90 years. since 1932. you re correct as wells that the s&p 500 did touch the bear market territory. that was significant. bear market territory is when the index is down 20% from its highs. the selling on wall street continues as investors are worried about inflation, the consumer and a recession. the concern of course is that the fed can t tamp this inflation down quickly enough and that the consumer will just have to go without nonessentials to pay for essentials. that means that the economy will eventually take a big hit. if that doesn t do it, the flip side is that rate hikes, they re coming and they will put us into a recession as well so many investors, analysts and company ceos are pointing the finger at bidenomics, excessive spending, regulation and money printing as the causes of what put this co
