It took firefighters nearly nine hours to get the fire under control and contain all of the hot spots. It started late last night and quickly spread to surrounding buildings which house businesses and secondfloor apartments. Fire investigators dont know yet how the fire started, but several families did have to be evacuated. Inside a few of the buildings, the second floor collapsed. They are a total loss. The fire chief says the wind had a lot do with the amount of damage out here. The wind is blowing in the worst direction for us tonight as far as blowing from the burn to the unburn.
