The High Court today rejected a writ petition filed by internationally acclaimed photographer Shahidul Alam challenging legality of a case filed under Section 57 of Information and Communication Technology Act, 2006, in which he was imprisoned for 107 days.

Great news pouring on for connoisseurs of art. International photography festival s 11th edition Chobi Mela Shunno has now gone virtual.
Organised by Drik Picture Library and Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, the special hybrid edition of the biggest photo festival kicked off in the capital on February 12 and concluded on February 21.
Now, the festival will be on the web for the next six months, all thanks to renowned art agency ARTcon. The virtual exhibition was launched on the closing date of its physical edition in Dhaka.
Art enthusiasts from home and abroad have lauded the online initiative.

‘Chobi Mela Shunno’ concludes today

Asia s most celebrated photography festival, Chobi Mela, concludes today. Exhibitions at the festival will run from 11 am till 8 pm. The ten-day event started on February 12, 2021.
This year, Chobi Mela has a special edition, Shunno . The festival is jointly organised by Pathshala South Asian Media Institute and Drik Pictures Library at the DrikPath Bhobon. Chobi Mela Shunno features eight projects by 75 artistes from home and abroad, including Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Srilanka. Some of the notable works displayed at the festival are in memory of eminent architect Bashirul Haq and the first female photographer of Bangladesh Sayeeda Khanum. This year, Chobi Mela paid a special tribute to their groundbreaking works.
