PATERSON, NJ - The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Paterson Police Department are investigating an incident in which a 23-year-old woman from Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania claims she was in Paterson early Saturday morning.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, members of the Paterson Police Department were advised that the victim had arrived at St Joseph’s University Medical Center at approximately 2:54 a.m. seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.
Based on the initial investigation the victim was a passenger in a motor vehicle traveling on Madison Avenue, crossing Route 80 when the vehicle was struck by gunfire.

Two people were in critical condition after a multiple shooting in a Paterson park Monday night, authorities said.
At 7:24 p.m. Monday, Paterson Police officers were told that two 18-year-old city residents were taken to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center with gunshot wounds, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said in a statement.
The police investigation led officers to the scene of the shooting on Broadway and McLean Avenue, in Eastside Park, the statement said.
As of Tuesday afternoon, both victims remained in critical condition. It was not released if any suspect was in custody or had been identified.

The victim of a March 3 shooting in Paterson has died from his injuries, authorities said.
Jaquan Harrison, 35, of Paterson, who was shot while in the area of North Sixth and Clinton streets, died from his injuries at St. Joseph s University Medical Center in Paterson on Sunday morning, said an announcement from Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora.
Harrison was taken to the hospital and had remained in critical condition since the shooting, the announcement said.
Responding police officers found Harrison inside a building in the area of North Sixth and Clinton streets with an apparent gunshot wound, the announcement read.

Two men were in critical condition late Wednesday following a shooting in Paterson that left one other person wounded in an area police say is popular with drug dealers and their customers.
Paterson police were called to a report of shots fired shortly after 5 p.m. to the area of Summer Street and Broadway where officers found three city men – ages 37, 38 and 52 – suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and city Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora.
They were all taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson. The 52-year-old and 38-year-old were both in critical condition Wednesday night, Valdes said.
