Public microgeneration webinar Thursday night

The goals of the webinar are: – Explain how to generate your own electricity from a solar photovoltaic (PV) system for your home, the cost involved, the grants available, the local installers. – Initiate a bulk-buy of PV systems to further reduce costs. – Explain how to get paid for the electricity that you generate. The webinar will last 1 hour in total with 30 minutes of presentations and then 30 minutes of Q&A. Gloria Callinan, the SEC Community Mentor, will also be on the panel to take any questions. The webinar is being facilitated by the Clare Green Party. This is the first event to be organised by the Clare Community Energy Agency, a social enterprise, whose objectives are :

(WKBT) The La Crosse Rotary Lights has had a busy year so far, according to Rotarian Pat Stephens. ” It is a fabulous display, we’ve had kind weather and couple those two with a community need ‘to do something,’ and we’re really having a special year. The La Crosse area really needed Rotary Lights this year,” Stephens said. With 26 of the 35 nights of lights down, the lights has reached its budgeted goal. In addition to the tremendous food collections in the park, the group has accumulated 10 pallets of food to be distributed after Christmas to food pantries that didn’t get nights in the park thanks to help from the La Crosse Jeep Club, Trane, Xcel, Delta Sigma Pi and others.

(WKBT) – A community tradition continues to shine bright along the Mississippi River in La Crosse. It’s been nearly a month since Santa flipped the switch on this year’s Rotary Lights display. Organizers say despite the changes, lots of people are still lining up to enjoy the festivities. The event serves as a donation effort for area food banks. In a year that has been so different, the tradition is bringing a sense of normalcy back to the community.
