La Crosse area volunteer Pat Stephens receives Rotary International award

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) Pat Stephens, known for his volunteer work with the Rotary Lights, community fundraising efforts and help with several La Crosse area festivals, has received the highest recognition for service given by Rotary International.
Stephens was awarded the Service Above Self Award, a prestigious honor named for Rotary’s motto “Service Above Self.” The award is the highest recognition for service given by the service group, which has 35,000 clubs in 220 countries. The award is bestowed on fewer than 150 members worldwide. Stephens received the award from Rotary International President-Nominee Jennifer Jones of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, at the recent virtual conference of Rotary District 6250, that covers Western Wisconsin.
The Deke Slayton Airfest has worked since 2015 to bring back the Blue Angels.
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - The man who volunteers with a number of festivals and events in the La Crosse area gets international recognition for his work.
Pat Stephens recently received the Service Above Self Award by Rotary International.
According to the group, it is the highest recognition for service they give. The award is presented to fewer than 150 members worldwide.
Stephens has been a member of Rotary for the past 35 years. His most visible volunteer work has centered around the annual Rotary Lights project in Riverside Park that raises money for service organizations and collects food for those in need.
The goals of the webinar are:
– Explain how to generate your own electricity from a solar photovoltaic (PV) system for your home, the cost involved, the grants available, the local installers.
– Initiate a bulk-buy of PV systems to further reduce costs.
– Explain how to get paid for the electricity that you generate.
The webinar will last 1 hour in total with 30 minutes of presentations and then 30 minutes of Q&A.
Gloria Callinan, the SEC Community Mentor, will also be on the panel to take any questions. The webinar is being facilitated by the Clare Green Party.
