The American Legion national commander, James W. Bill Oxford, voiced a need to grow the veteran service organization’s membership during his April 10 visit to Park Rapids.
Oxford is serving an unprecedented two-year term as national commander, due to COVID-19 cancelling the national convention and elections in 2020. He is a native of Lenoir, N.C., and has served at every level of the American Legion.
