Hackensack Legion Auxiliary attends leadership conference

HACKENSACK Shirley Frederick, Diana Slinkard, Char Wilkes and Nancy Albrecht from Hackensack Unit 202 attended a 6th District Leadership Conference on February 26. This training session was lead by LuAnn Marschel, Kimball Unit 261 at the Park Rapids Legion Post. Also attending were members of Park Rapids Unit 212, Aitkin Unit 86 and Kimball Unit 261. The session included information on "A Capsule History of the First 90 Years", Auxiliary Preamble and Emblem, The Poppy Program, Budgets, Standing Rules, IRS forms and general discussion.

Bill Oxford, voiced a need to grow the veteran service organization’s membership during his April 10 visit to Park Rapids. Oxford is serving an unprecedented two-year term as national commander, due to COVID-19 cancelling the national convention and elections in 2020. He is a native of Lenoir, N.C., and has served at every level of the American Legion.
