In the community. And speaking connection to the community, right below that, you see a couple of photos, from a really remarkable event that happened this last september called sites and sounds of bay view and this was the result of a collaboration between kalw and the San Francisco Arts Commission where we got the journalists and do the profile of the amazing people to do the work in the bay view and from that community, profiling their expenses what their committed to, and those were in the broadcast on the radio. And we had an event that was packed to the gills with the people that were excited to hear the stories from the community and it was an emotional night and a powerful night and to me it is one night. And it is one community, within this big bay area, but i felt like it was a example of what a station like kalw can do and we did it in partnership and that is the kind of thing that we could leverage for do more and. There are new efforts that i will call on the legislature to adopt. However we should make our First Priority implementing the reforms we have already passed. I recently released opportunity mississippi which is my Strategic Plan for the state. In that document i outlined benchmarks for education works reforms. College and Career Readiness among High School Students has become the centerpiece of change and advancement. We must aim to reduce our High School Dropout rate a 10 by 2017. If properly implemented, the other reforms we have enacted will help us achieve this goal. Through the third grade gate we should also work to document a 20 increase in literacy attainment for the third thirdgrade students by 2017. I call on the legislature to work toward providing enough funding for this essential program to establish a ratio of one reading coach, one for every nine teachers, one reading coach for every nine teachers in our highest need classrooms. That is. , and now that i cant see you 5u8, this is Jessica Lehman and we are going to have a different member of the Long Term Care council giving the report, this month we get me and so the council met on thursday september 11th and there were three major items on the agenda, and the first was the care task force, and which is about looking at the needs in the community and identifying resources and needs. And the council heard the recommendations from the four work groups. And over all, recommendation is to have a care advisory board, and that would operate under the long term coordinating council and one of the cochairs of the task force is our very own anne hinton and if you have questions i am sure that she can help with that. Another issue that came up on the council that actually has been coming up in the community quite a bit is, looking at the group of people who are long term survivors of hiv and aids. Other part of the state has played a critical roll in keeping the project a mega project to keep it moving forward. Hes played a key roll from the negotiations every step of the way. The approval process the Community Process working with the Advisory Committee and drafting the benefits plan resulting in 83 million in benefits for San Francisco. He played a key really in the adaptation of the streetscape plan but ultimately it moved in a great direction because of wells work and leadership. Wells were really going to miss you i know a lot of people are going to miss you, your a popular guy and theres a reason for that youre one of the people that gets it done and did it in a intelligent way its a major loss to the city but youre not far away and going on to bigger and Better Things in the great work youve already been doing so its my honor to recognize you at the board of supervisors and i know that supervisor cohen has some words as well thank you yes.
