This decision came after an eight-hour debate involving 60 members, resulting in 454 members voting in favor of the Constitution (128th Amendment) Bill, with only two members opposing it. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present during the voting, marking it as the first bill passed in the new Parliament building.The debate was spirited, with former Congress president Sonia Gandhi advocating for the inclusion of Other Backward Classes (OBC) women in the proposed law.
