Access to the Parliament complex - a particularly high-profile issue after last week's security breach - will now be guarded by the Central Industrial Security Force, or CISF, the government has said.
The Lok Sabha closed its Winter Session Thursday, a day early, after a tumultuous fortnight that saw a security scare, 146 opposition MPs suspended, and the passage of contentious bills, including three overhauling India's criminal jurisprudence.
According to sources, the PM, who was present in Speaker Om Birla's chamber along with the floor leaders after the Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die, maintained that the security breach was a “serious issue”.
