i think it s still confusing. when you read through those guidelines, and they re online for everyone to see, i think you read them and you go, what? my team and i have been back and forth about them ever since they came out yesterday. we still have questions and we re a relatively bright group of people. there are still things that aren t clear. let s talk about what does seem to be clear and what some of the bottom lines are. so the cdc is saying if you have covid-19, stay home for at least five days. if you re feeling better, you can end your isolation. you can get out of the house after five days, and you should mask up for another five days. now, towards the end of those five days, the end of your isolation, if you want to, if you can find a test, and if you want to take it, go for it. go ahead and take that test and a rapid test before ending your isolation. but it s not part of the guidelines. if you want to, you can do it. if that test is positive, then you should isolate for
advancement act. reporter: so there was a summary from psaki. two things, quite a few many, aren t clear. first is whether president biden s speech and his actions today will actually bring over senators joe manchin and kyrsten sinema. we know they are currently opposed to any filibuster change rules. it is unclear whether president biden s actions today, depending on how far he goes, actually kind of quells that criticism and satisfies advocates. yesterday when organizations in atlanta announced this kind of boycott they re going on, they said things like president biden should stay in d.c. they don t need him in georgia. they need him in d.c. he should go to the senate, really, and try to work that vote. what they need in georgia is voting rights and action. i spoke to latasha brown who is co-founder of black voters matter, a part of that coalition of groups, and she said, what i want to see from the president is a commitment, a plan going
nuclear weapons, be careful what you do in reaction to this. that is frankly, chilling, also in that speech, he talks about nato you said this again and again, everyone will know, this ukraine is not part of nato, but the same time as launching this conflict in ukraine, vladimir putin once again saying that this is a part of his opposition to nato he is not fighting nato right now. and so, to answer your question, i think what his aims are aren t clear. is he trying to bring down the government of ukraine, that seems pretty likely, pretty clear. what is his plan after that? we simply don t know. does he plan to try to occupy the country, we simply don t know. we think, and that seems unlikely, not least because of russia s experience in afghanistan, for america s experience in afghanistan, russia had a very negative experience of trying to run afghanistan. it seems, just, hard to comprehend that presidents
russian forces that are basically kept apart by mariupol between the east and the west side on the azov sea. it is a remarkable effort being made in maricopa. and also, of course, it s also critical there. this is why ukrainians may enforce their defense of it. they have a lot of troops in the east. there is a deep cushion if mariupol fell, they could be cut off from the rest of the country, trapping some of their most seasoned, best equipped forces in the wrong part effectively of ukraine. wolf? that entire city of mariupol is being leveled right now. sam kiley in kyiv for us. stay safe over there. we ll get back to you. in this the fourth week of the war, the casualty count is clearly rising for russian and ukrainian forces, even if the exact numbers aren t clear. cnn s ivan watson is getting a close-up look at a grave ward and a makeshift morgue that underscores the lives being lost. reporter: this military cemetery brings home the stark
0 official, i asked him if president putin is directing this himself. and he said yes, that is how it is going. that is not surprising. we know that president putin makes all of the decisions. in the end, he will have had advice from that small clique around him, that ultimately he is the decision-maker. and another element of his televised address, which to reiterate, if russians will be stunned by. waking up and seeing now, another man from that televised address, which is chilling frankly. is that president putin requires russian s nuclear capability. and clearly, openly threatens western leaders. even after the collapse of the ussr, losing a significant part of the nuclear potential. today, russia is one of the most nuclear powers. and he says, i think that this is a direct message to the west. in this regard, no one should have any doubt that a direct attack on russia will lead to defeat and dire consequences for a potential aggressor. and so, i just want to say all, just before t
