The Weather Service is warning that travel could be in their words difficult to impossible. Theyre working to clear the roads this morning. Chains are required here and on highway 50 except on vehicles with fourwheel drive and snow tires. There could be two feet or more on higher mountain peaks. Mud creek on highway 1 in the big sur area will be closed due to concerns about mudslides in this weekends storm. It closed a few minutes ago, 9 00 was the time it was scheduled to close. The slide closed last night at 5 00. The stretch of roadway is in the southern part of monterey county. Both sides where seen slides in the past. The bay area isnt the only place seeing rough weather. Parts of the San Bernardino mountains are buried in snow. The community of Running Springs saw several feet and roads are closed off to only local residents. Many of them are getting around on foot. Breaking news out of San Francisco. Crews are on the scene of a large fire in the castro. The fire is on castro street. We are live at the scene where two people have been hurt and there are a lot of others forced from their homes. Reporter good morning. I do have some good news. The fire is not contained but so a very heavy San Francisco Fire Department here on castro street. I will step out of the way so you can see whats going on. There are firefighters inside of these buildings who have been damaged by the fire. They are going through and investigating they tell us the Fire Department says anytime there is a fire of this size they have investigators out here to look at everything. We dont know up anything criminal went on and we dont know what started it but we know they are investigating heres once it fighters up there are a lot of firefighters standing by for the word to be let back inside.
