LEGAZPI CITY - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in Bicol (LTFRB-5) on Monday said over 3,000 public utility jeepney (PUJ) operators in the region can now receive PHP6,500 worth of fuel subsidy from the government. In an interview, lawyer Raymund Paolo Calleja, LTFRB-5 administrative assistant, said the funds are being distributed through a cash card provided by the Land Bank of the Philippines. "As of today, we have 3,181 jeepney operators that can now avail of their Pantawid Pasada Program (PPP) cash cards," Calleja said. He reminded the beneficiaries that the cash card they received may only be used to purchase fuel. "Beneficiaries were also reminded to be vigilant in reading the deed of the undertaking they signed since some beneficiaries withdraw the money and used it for some other expenses, which is not allowed.
