BOKARO: Chief minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday virtually inaugurated 50 state-of-the-art Anganwadi centres, named Nand Ghar, of Vedanta Group’s ESL Steel Plant at Sindurpeti in Chandankyari block of Bokaro district. The Nand Ghar initiative has been introduced to promote education, women empowerment and eradicate child malnutrition, ESL said.
However, soon after the inauguration, BJP’s Chandankyari MLA Amar Bauri had raised his voice against Nand Ghar in the Budget session and termed the initiative “eyewash”. Notably, Bauri has been at loggerheads with the company over a “hushed up” public hearing for acquiring land to expand the plant.
