A stylish, well-traveled couple recently completed a home renovation and second-story addition in the Southgate area of Houston. The couple has two boys and a dog, which played into many of the design considerations. They moved back to Houston at the end of 2016, having lived in Amsterdam for 10 years. While there, they remodeled a townhome. Living in The Netherlands increased their appreciation for clean, sleek design, especially in plumbing and cabinetry. The couple loves Mid-Century Modern design and has a collection of original pieces and furnishings that served as a jumping off point for the design concept. Having found a 1981 single-story home in Southgate with a distinctly mod vibe, they hired Greg Swedberg with 2Scale Architects to design and complete the renovation and second-floor addition.
