The parties said in the joint statement that they had agreed to establish an organizing committee and a tribunal that would deal with transparency and fairness of the elections. The tribunal is to consist of judges appointed by consensus in the near future, and it will have the authority to oversee the election and confirm the results. Security for the elections will be the responsibility of the Palestinian police, which, like other Palestinian security agencies, will not be permitted to interfere in the elections or campaigns.
The parties agreed to allow all the candidates full freedom of expression, in an attempt to set aside the rifts in Palestinian society. RAMALLAH, Thursday, February 04, 2021 (WAFA) – The Israeli demolition and displacement of Humsa al-Fouqa community in the occupied northern Jordan Valley was highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today.
The headline for this story went across the front page of al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida, with the latter highlighting remarks by President Mahmoud Abbas in support of the activists who volunteered to help the afflicted community and rebuild their homes demolished by the Israeli occupation over two days.
The three papers said the occupying forces demolished all structures in Humsa al-Fouqa, in addition to several demolitions of homes and structures in three other governorates in the occupied West Bank.
