RAMALLAH, Saturday, January 09, 2021 (WAFA) – Developments in the United States with calls to impeach President Donald Trump in light of the breach of Congress on Wednesday, as well as the Israeli army crackdown on the weekly peaceful Palestinian protests against its occupation and settlement activities were highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today.
The main front-page story headline in al-Ayyam daily said that as Trump has announced his boycott of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden on January 20, the Trump presidency is facing multiple problems including disintegration of his administration and calls for his impeachment.

RAMALLAH, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) Hamas movement and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Fatah movement try to put differences aside to hold general elections in the Palestinian territories, Palestinian political experts and observers said.
On Saturday, Ismail Haniyeh, the politburo chief of Hamas, addressed Abbas in an official letter, confirming that Hamas was ready to end the internal divisions and hold a general election.
Abbas welcomed the gesture and said he would support the initiative of ending divisions, building partnership, and accomplishing national unity.
He also invited Hana Nasser, chairman of the Palestinian Central Elections Commission, to discuss the procedures for issuing the decrees related to holding the elections.

Palestine s official news agency WAFA said in an official statement that Abbas welcomes what came in Hamas s letter about ending division, building partnership, and accomplishing national unity.
The report added that Abbas decided to invite Hana Nasser, Chairman of the Palestinian Central Elections Commission, to discuss the procedures for issuing the decrees related to holding the elections.
