The atmosphere was festive on the patio of Jalisco's on Thursday, as people enjoyed a Mexican meal, bid on auction items and even got to enjoy live musical interludes performed by local youth.
The paintings will be submitted to the student art contest that is part of the 3rd Annual Live Oak Jack Rabbit event happening on April 14 at Shoreline Middle School. Twelve winning Live Oak School District student artists will receive award certificates from the district as well as gift cards from Palace Art & Office Supply.
This was a sad year for history and historic buildings in Rogers. Three of our structures that were a significant part of the development of our city were lost, including the O.L. Gregory/Speas/Speaco Vinegar Plant, Wight s Livery Stable and the Oklahoma Row Hotel at Monte Ne are gone forever. Here are their stories:

The historic Oklahoma Row Hotel gone, demolished by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for safety reasons. So I thought it would be appropriate to remember the story of the amazing hotel built 114 years ago in 1909. I have written about this fascinating structure several times in the past, but many may not know the whole story.
